Espn has a first look posted on their site that highlights 9 new features for NCAA 11. I’m very interested in the game play element of NCAA as I feel it is the weakest link in the series, but they do not specifically mention how they improved that. Here is the quick list of features they mentioned.
- 1. Refs are now in the game and they have collision detection and avoidance.
2. Gang tackles and not just the same madden 10 gang tackles; supposedly the animations are improved.
3. Auto Save is more like NHL and Fifa. More frequent less frustrating.
4. Persistent Rosters, the annoying deal where when you back out of your franchise the rosters would change out. (Which would really piss me off at times..) Thanks EA!
5. Formation Subs are back. I guess the OS crowd can now stop the 5000 threads of WHERE ARE FORMATION SUBS!!! (They will find something new to bitch about I suppose).
6. New Equipment, updated, and better equipment.
7. Single Bowl Season. This is a nice one for my online franchise. No more waiting 3 weeks for everyone to do their bowl games. They have essentially made it possible for all players to play at once. This will make it much faster. Very nice touch.. kudos to EA on this one.
8. Logos will now transfer when you move your team out of a conference. (I really didn’t even know this was an issue?) Ok good..
9. Numbers on helmets: you can now be just like Alabama and have the numbers on your helmets.
Some cool updates, but also some “who cares” type things. It’s very early, so I’m sure bigger and better updates will come at a lter date. Even though the game has fallen out of my good graces recently I hope it makes a triumphant return this year.
